This commentary provides an overview of Algeria’s domestic and foreign policy as well as how the country is responding to regional security dynamics. In particular, the author discusses the role of the Algerian army and contends that Algeria’s diplomacy has become more active. He concludes that a less corrupt Algeria with a more even share of prosperity would be the best anchor for long term stability.
