This commentary discusses the November 2014 joint announcement on climate change and energy cooperation between the US and China (“G2”) and its implications for the global climate regime. The author specifically focuses on 1) the efforts this agreement will require of the G2; 2) its environmental and geopolitical impact; and 3) the agreement’s effect on the EU’s stance on climate change.
