This edition of the RAD examines the impact sanctions have had on Russia over the past year, along with Moscow’s responses to them. More specifically, the articles consider 1) the specific sanctions that have been applied and what impact they've had; 2) the counter-embargo Russia has imposed on food imports from sanctions-supporting countries; and 3) Russia’s use of economic tools to leverage its influence over states in the former Soviet space. Finally, the edition provides a statistical overview of the refugees fleeing the fighting in Eastern Ukraine.
