This brief analyzes the increasing influence of major Asian economic powers in Latin America, a region traditionally dominated by the United States. The author argues that the almost simultaneous visit of the presidents of Russia, China and Japan in July 2014 reflects their respective interests in closer political and economic partnership with the continent.
