Nov 2014

This paper provides an overview of research on national and global greenhouse gas (GHG) emission pathways in November 2014 and examines how this research could contribute to raising ambition levels towards reaching the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) target of 2°C or less. The authors argue that a key initial step toward enhancing global mitigation ambitions would be to enhance transparency and understanding of intended nationally determined contributions (INDCs) of each Party, in particular major economies.
