This paper discusses some of the domestic and geopolitical events involving Bangladesh in 2014 and how the trends observed in these areas may continue into 2015. In particular, it explores the possibility of 1) a return to political violence as a result of emerging confrontational politics; 2) a consolidation of Bangladesh’s diplomatic ties in the East; 3) the country taking a proactive role in global fora; 4) a re-engagement with the West; and 5) a continuity of the strong ties between Bangladesh and India.
