This monograph explores the key role landpower continues to play as a strategic instrument of foreign policy, both in the US and elsewhere. In doing so, it 1) provides a historical context for the role landpower has played in the past; 2) illustrates why strategic landpower is uniquely ‘human’ in its focus; and 3) how it functions most effectively in a joint military environment.
