This paper examines how the introduction of two types of non-tariff measures - technical barriers to trade (TBT) and sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) measures - affect exporters in different countries. The authors particularly focus on trade in foodstuffs and on how TBT and SPS measures affect export concentration and diversification as well as the entry and exit of firms into exporting.
