This bulletin examines the economic and political implications for Armenia of its decision not to sign an association agreement with the EU and to join the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) instead. The author also explores how the decision to join the EEU has affected the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and how the EU should respond to Yerevan’s decision. In general, the author contends that joining the EEU is disadvantageous to Armenia and that the decision to abandon the association agreement with the EU could undermine reform in the country.
