This paper examines Chinese President Xi Jinping’s domestic anti-corruption campaign and contrasts it with China’s approach to corruption in other countries with which it trades or offers aid to. The authors argue that the anti-corruption campaign demonstrates that the government recognizes that the large amounts of money flowing through China have corroded the country's political system and society. It is therefore disturbing, they suggest, that Beijing has overlooked the corruption related problems that could result from the large infusions of Chinese money into other countries.
