In light of Russia’s involvement in the conflict in eastern Ukraine, this paper examines security challenges posed by Moscow to Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Among other issues, the author focuses on 1) how the three states have responded to the threat posed by Russia; 2) the security capabilities of the states and their ability to deal with the various tactics that could be used by Russia against them; 3) the influence of Moscow on the populations of the three countries; 4) the economic ties between the Baltic states and Russia; and 5) the level of security cooperation between the three countries.
