This paper focuses on NATO's proposed Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF), which will putatively help blunt Russia's new-found reliance on hybrid warfare, as illustrated in Ukraine. After first reviewing the history and development of the NRF concept, including some of its shortfalls, the paper then explores the VJTF’s links to the troubled NATO Response Force and recommends ways to enhance its probability of success.
