This report provides an overview of the discussions and presentations at the eighth annual session of the US-China Strategic Dialogue in Hawaii in 2014. The goal of these meetings was to identify misperceptions which the US and China may have regarding each other's nuclear strategy and doctrine and to highlight potential areas for cooperation. Some of the main topics discussed were 1) general perceptions of the US-China relationship; 2) China's regional relations and threat perceptions; 3) views of the broader nuclear environment; 4) views on the US nuclear posture; and 5) Chinese strategic forces.
