Publication

This paper discusses the role of volunteer battalions in Ukraine that are aligned with the Kyiv government and their engagement in military operations in the East of the country. The author also discusses why and how these battalions were formed as well as the extent to which they have become political actors in the country and what this means for Ukraine’s stability.
