This bulletin discusses the implications of Turkey's denouncement of the Egyptian government following the ousting of President Morsi in July 2013. In general, the author suggests that the denouncement has further increased Ankara's isolation in the East Mediterranean, something that has hurt the country's vital energy interests and its ability to further its efforts to set boundaries on gas deposits and its claims in the exclusive economic zones (EEZ) that overlap with Cyprus. The author concludes by looking at what Turkey's policies towards Egypt mean for the EU.
