This conference report of the Pacific Forum's CSIS's "Young Leaders Workshop" held in February 2015, discusses the state of the US-Japan partnership, marking the 70th anniversary of the end of the WWII in the Pacific theater. More specifically, it examines 1) the personal, cultural, educational and professional ties between the two countries, and 2) the roles Japan and the US should play in the region. It also proposes concrete recommendations to the leaderships of both countries on how to further strengthen their alliance.
