In the wake of Saudi Arabia's intervention in Yemen, this brief focuses on the possible impact of Riyadh pursuing a more proactive foreign policy in the Middle East. In particular, the brief's author examines 1) the burgeoning alliances Saudi Arabia is forming with other Sunni states in the region, 2) the possibility of Riyadh acquiring nuclear weapons, and 3) the kingdom’s diminishing reliance on the US.
