This paper examines how China’s foreign policy has become more proactive under President Xi Jinping, especially in the Asia-Pacific region and through new institutions such as the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). The paper also looks at how Beijing's muscle flexing and desire to shape global rules may impact the EU.
