6 Dec 2014

This paper provides an overview of a conference that took place in December 2014 on emerging human rights, economic and environmental laws, policies and practice dealing with climate change, sustainable development and the future of the international education agenda. The key questions addressed at the conference included 1) how international law and governance can better respond to climate change; 2) what universal human rights can contribute to legal responses to climate change and how climate laws can promote respect for human rights; and 3) how innovative legal instruments can lead to more sustainable landscapes and energy through the harnessing of trade, investment and technology.
