This collection of seven articles looks at how doctrinal, strategic and technological developments are eating away at the relatively stable nuclear deterrence that presently exists between India and Pakistan. In support of this overarching theme, the articles focus on 1) the differing strategic cultures that exist on the subcontinent; 2) the operational myths and realities of the area's tactical nuclear weapons; 3) the implications of India's MIRV program for deterrence stability in South Asia and much more.
