This paper provides an overview of Latvia's approach to nuclear disarmament, arms control and non-proliferation. In particular, it focuses on the country’s position and its activities related to nuclear weapons within NATO and discussions on this issue prior to the 2015 Review Conference of the Non-Proliferation Treaty. The author also discusses 1) Latvia’s policy towards missile defense and cooperation on nuclear security; and 2) its membership in treaties and initiatives related to ballistic and cruise missiles as well as chemical and biological weapons.
