This report identifies three issues that are contributing to the 2014/2015 regional crisis in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). These include 1) the ongoing crisis in Israeli-Palestinian relations; 2) the aftermaths of the “Arab Spring” of 2011; and 3) the growth of extremism throughout the MENA region, as typified by the so-called Islamic State.
