This paper discusses the significance of the proposed Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) between the EU and the US arguing that that it presents more than an opportunity to boost trade and investment between the two actors. Indeed, the author contends that it represents a chance for the US and the EU to reassert leadership in the development of new global trade rules and to advance market liberalization.
