This report discusses the key elements of Myanmar’s ongoing transition from authoritarian to democratic rule. They include the personalities of the country's political leaders, the ongoing decay of military rule and the involvement of external actors. The report’s author also explores whether Myanmar's transition might be instructive for other countries that are working their way towards democracy.
