This volume includes a collection of essays by Ukrainian authors on the challenges facing Ukraine in light of the conflict in the eastern part of the country, Moscow’s annexation of Crimea in 2014 and Kyiv’s political and economic reforms. More specifically, the papers focus on 1) the political situation in Ukraine and the war in the eastern part of the country; 2) Ukraine’s changing national identity and developments within the different regions as well as the way the crisis has influenced these issues; and 3) the difficulties of implementing the economic and political reforms Ukraine needs while conflict continues.
