This paper explores the growing connections between countries across the Atlantic Basin and asks whether the region fits the paradigm of 'inter-polarity'. More specifically, the author assesses the dimensions of interdependence in the Atlantic Basin - such as trade, investment and energy - as well as the main political and security trends that characterize the region. He then explains the growing intra-Atlantic links and common challenges, as well as the expanding connections between Atlantic countries and Asia, notably China. Finally, with this in mind, he assesses the prospects for future cooperation across this vast maritime space.
