This paper discusses the military policies of the Bush administration in the context of "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu, the 5th century Chinese military philosopher. The authors explain how "The Art of War" is often used by the US to justify the war on terror. They also argue that the US persists in portraying China in aggressive militant terms and its interpretations are misappropriated from an epistemological and ontological point of view. The study concludes that "The Art of War" actually offers a substantially different vision than the policies of the Bush administration.
