This bulletin looks at the importance of Montenegro's accession process to the EU and NATO. The author argues that despite shortcomings of Montenegro's political system, both the EU and NATO should continue accessions negotiations with the country. Doing this, he concludes, would send a clear signal to the Balkan countries that they remain of interest to the Euro-Atlantic community, especially when it comes to expanding democracy and building a greater understanding of the Trans-Atlantic idea in the region.
