This paper discusses more adequate ways of fighting poverty. The author details the connections between poverty, power and agency, and examines the Millennium Development Goals and Poverty Reduction Strategies of the UN. The study raises serious questions about their adequacy and the ability of these programs to successfully alleviate poverty.
