This paper examines some of the key issues affecting EU foreign policy as well as what approach the Union should adopt towards them. More specifically, the authors examine 1) the threat posed by Russia to the European security order; 2) the conflict and instability in the Middle East as well as its impact on migration in the Mediterranean region; 3) aid, peacekeeping and the EU's relationship with Africa; 4) the rise of China and the rest of Asia as well as its implications for the existing global order; and 5) EU-US relations. They also provide policy recommendations for the EU on how to tackle these five issues, including the suggestion that the EU should prioritize them.
