This report discusses the developments in the governance of the Holy Esplanade (the the Temple Mount to Jews and the Noble Sanctuary/Al-Aqsa to Muslims) since Israel captured East Jerusalem in 1967. It also examines where the most important challenges in governing the Holy Esplanade lie (security and access, prayer and public works/archaeology) and how the re-escalation of violence in 2014 impacted both the situation in the Holy Esplanade and the diplomatic relations between Israel and Jordan.
