This paper discusses the changes in migration trends in the US over the past 50 years and analyzes their effect on Poland’s chances of accessing the US’s Visa Waiver Program (VWP). The author argues that the shift from European to Latin American dominance in migration to the US has lowered Poland’s ability to influence US policymakers and that, despite Warsaw's cooperation with Washington on diplomatic and defense matters, the chances of Poland gaining admission to the VWP remain small. He points out that improving the economy and combating unemployment in Poland might be a more effective way to obtain visa-free travel rights to the US for Polish citizens.
