This commentary 1) argues that President Obama’s arms sales policy towards Taiwan lacks necessary clarity, and 2) tries to determine why the US has failed to sell arms to Taiwan since 2011. In the last case, the text's author dismisses four logical, but not applicable explanations and then provides three alternative ones, which could indeed be illegal according to US law.
