This note contends that India's June 2015 bid for membership of the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) and Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR) should be supported. The author puts forward several arguments to support this claim including that India 1) has already complied with the 2006 US-India civil nuclear agreement; 2) could serve as an example for other countries with significant nuclear activities wishing to join the regimes that compliance is rewarded; and 3) would, as a member of the NSG, be allowed to import the uranium and reactor technology it needs to further develop its economy. She also briefly discusses some of the objections to India's membership which may come from other countries.
