This brief provides an overview of the key recommendations for the G20 and its role in international monetary and financial cooperation that were identified at the May 2015 Think 20 Conference. More specifically, the topics addressed at the conference included 1) how to boost the participation of emerging market economies in the international monetary system by expanding the International Monetary Fund’s international reserve asset, the Special Drawing Right; 2) how to improve cross-border macroeconomic policy analysis and implementation; 3) how to manage severe sovereign debt crises; 4) how to continue to reform the global financial regulatory system; and 5) how to the G20 can contribute to efforts tackling climate change.
