This issue of the Sentinel includes articles on 1) the origins, evolution and domestic threats posed by the jihadist group Wilayat Sinai in Egypt; 2) how Wilayat West Africa (formerly known as Boko Haram prior to formalizing its ties with the so-called Islamic State [IS]) responded to the military offensive launched against it by the Nigerian government and neighboring states in early 2015; 3) IS' system of governance and the services it's providing in the territory it controls; 4) the history of the UK-based terrorist organization Al-Muhajiroun and its ties to other Islamic extremist groups in Europe; and 5) the apparent emergence of IS-affiliated groups in the Gaza Strip. The Sentinel additionally includes an interview with Alain Grignard, who is a senior member of the counterterrorism unit in the Brussels Federal Police.
