This paper examines the right to water in the context of legal and political frameworks. The study analyzes the principal legal forms of the right to water and also describes the right to water in the context of human rights. The author explains how the legal norms are intended to provide legally binding and enforceable rights of access. The study also highlights the importance of the political side of water management and water allocation.
