More specifically, the articles 1) examine the changes in Indonesian foreign policy under President Joko Widodo and offer policy recommendations for Australia on how to work with the President’s maritime policy and to further US-Indonesia relations; 2) discuss the growth of the influence of the Islamic State in Indonesia, how the country has responded to this development and opportunities for Indonesia and Australia to work together to tackle this problem; and 3) analyze Indonesia’s maritime security focus and offer a proposal on how to improve regional security cooperation and the Australian-Indonesian relationship.
