This brief provides an overview of the discussions held at a July 2015 conference in South Africa on the financing of climate change mitigation and adaptation projects and programs. More specifically, the discussions addressed 1) the role of international organizations and conventions in climate change and finance policies; 2) how to encourage the financial sector to play a role in addressing sustainability and climate change issues; and 3) the impact of financing climate change adaptation and mitigation programs at the national level, particularly in African countries.
