This commentary looks at protest activity in Moldova, with a particular focus on protests organized by Dignity and Truth (DA), a civic organization established in February 2015 in response to the country's economic and corruption problems. The author claims that on the one hand, the activities of DA show that Moldovan civil society is becoming more capable of self-organization and demands for reforms. On the other, he warns that the protests could also have negative consequences - including the possibility that they could lead to violence and enhance the position of Russian oriented parties and groups in the country - if the government continues to disregard the political discontent. Finally, he discusses what policy the EU should adopt towards the protestors and the government in Moldova.
