This issue of the CAD includes three articles that examine the relative effectiveness of anti-corruption policies in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia. The first article recounts Armenia’s experiences in fighting corruption and explores the government's most recent attempts to deal with the problem. The next piece contends that although Azerbaijan has joined the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), it has made little effort to become more transparent on how it spends its energy revenues. The last article analyzes how the scale of corruption has changed in Georgia since the defeat of the United National Movement (UNM) government in October 2012. Note: The issue also includes charts and statistics that show how corruption in the South Caucasus countries compares to other nations, and how the Georgian public views corruption in their own country.
