This paper discusses the decision by Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) to call snap elections for November 1, 2015. The author examines 1) the results of the previous elections which took place on June 7, 2015 and how they led to difficulties in forming a stable government; 2) the AKP's decision to break off peace talks with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and how the fallout from this act could affect voting intentions; and 3) the political violence and repression which seems to be affecting the country. She also looks ahead to what the results of the snap elections could be.
