This report considers whether early warning and response systems continue to have a significant role to play in peacebuilding efforts. More specifically, the report 1) charts the evolution of the warning and response field within a global security landscape; 2) concludes that such systems do provide critical value added, although there are specific ways they can be improved; and 3) considers how China and the UK could strengthen their conflict prevention efforts, particularly by linking their early warning and response capabilities.
