This study explores Moldovan-Romanian relations, which are indeed complex. More specifically, the text's author 1) reviews the turbulent political dynamics that have existed between Chișinau and Bucharest since the collapse of the Soviet Union, including the objectives they've pursued and the tools they've used; 2) assesses the role Romania continues to play in Moldova’s economic, political, cultural, and security spheres; 3) examines the idea of reunifying both countries; and 4) outlines the likely trajectory of Romanian-Moldovan relations in the foreseeable future.
