This paper first describes three impediments to the spread of climate-friendly technologies -- lack of appropriate financing, intellectual property restrictions, and insufficient or underutilized capacity. The text's authors then outline two partnerships -- one on energy access and one on energy storage and grid balancing -- that could address these challenges and significantly improve our energy efficiency efforts.
