This commentary discusses China's strategic foreign policy goals and its attitude towards the global order. It concludes that Beijing’s ultimate goals are to establish a Chinese-dominated security sphere in Asia and eventually become the leader of a new global power structure. Unsurprisingly, countries that 'respect' such aspirations will be rewarded with economic prosperity, public goods, and practical benefits.
