This paper highlights 1) the interrelatedness of business, human rights and security sector reform, and 2) the virtues of bringing these overlapping domains closer together. To illustrate his point, the paper’s author explores the direct inputs business entities had into the security and justice reforms of three countries (Guinea, Colombia and Papua New Guinea.) Also, for purposes of analysis, the author breaks down the business interventions he studies into five areas: stakeholder engagement, risk assessment, training, monitoring, and oversight and accountability.
