This paper reviews the attempts to integrate International Humanitarian Law (IHL) and International Human Rights Laws (IHRL) into the training and capacity building of foreign armed forces operating in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Somalia. More specifically, the text’s authors group their findings under five thematic categories – 1) training design and modalities; 2) knowledge capturing and handover; 3) skills and resources; 4) strategy and frameworks; and 5) impact and sustainability.
