This text contains four articles which examine the threats posed to NATO by hybrid warfare (HW), as practiced by Russia and the so-called Islamic State (IS). More specifically, the articles focus on 1) how the Kremlin's recent reliance on HW has altered Russia's relationship with the West; 2) the extent to which hybrid warfare represents a new way of waging war; 3) case studies where HW has been used by Russia and by IS to spread their ideologies; and 4) how NATO can adapt to the threats posed by hybrid warfare.
