This monograph explores the experiences of those who have survived systematic domestic violence in Bosnia and Herzegovina and contrasts the realities of the problem with the theories used to explain them. The author further considers 1) how domestic violence is not treated as a serious criminal offence within the country; 2) how this failure puts victims, their children and their communities at greater risk; and 3) what are the actual risk factors associated with domestic violence.
